The problem isn't your phone

It's the fear of missing the one message that matters.

You've tried airplane mode. You felt anxious the whole time. That's not addiction — it's a rational response to a real problem: someone you love might actually need you. PHLO solves that.

200×

Americans check their phone 200 times a day — once every five waking minutes.

53%

want to cut their phone use. The #1 reason they can't: fear of missing something important.

25 yrs

At current rates, the average person will spend twenty-five years of their waking life on their phone.

~5

The number of close contacts who actually matter in an emergency. It's the same few people every time.

"It's the social obligation to be instantly available to everyone, all the time — a norm nobody agreed to but everyone feels bound by." PHLO breaks it.

How it works

They text you like always. You get a calm glow.

No app for your people to install. Nothing changes on their end. They text your real number — PHLOFILTER, PHLOband's patent-pending AI, does the rest.

STEP 1

Tap out, walk away

Flip the switch and tap the band to your phone as you set it down — the phone goes silent, the connection is verified with a green flash, and your seven are routed to your wrist. One gesture. Gone.

STEP 2

Someone who matters texts

PHLOFILTER reads it in the cloud, confirms it's one of your seven, checks urgency, and compresses it to a ten-word-or-less glanceable signal. If context is missing, it quietly asks the sender.

STEP 3

Your wrist glows their color

A single pulse in that contact's color, one subtle vibration, fading back to orange. True emergencies hold the whole band solid red until you acknowledge.

STEP 4

Glance, scroll, squeeze

Press UP to read the scrolling signal. Scroll through YES / NO / MAYBE / CALL U LATER / 👍, then squeeze the band to send. No typing. No invisible AI reply — just a fast response you chose.

Phone left in a bag while someone walks away
The leaving ritual

Tap out. Put the phone away.

Your iPhone stays powered and connected, but it does not stay with you. Tap the band as you set the phone down. A green flash confirms the chain is alive. Then walk away.

That is the promise: physically away from the phone, still reachable by your seven.

The whole feature list

Everything it does. Everything it won't.

It does

  • Your seven. The only people who reach your wrist — you choose them in the app.
  • Ten-word signals. PHLOFILTER™ compresses every text to one glanceable question — and asks the sender if anything's missing.
  • Quick replies. Scroll YES / NO / MAYBE / CALL U LATER / 👍, then squeeze to send. You choose every response.
  • Urgent override. Real emergencies show in full, full-band red, until you acknowledge.
  • The time, always on. A dim pixel clock — the last excuse to grab the phone, gone.
  • Tap out. Tap the band to your phone as you leave — the phone goes silent, you go free.
  • Designed for IP68. Pool, ocean, shower, hot tub — with waterproof testing before production.
  • Multi-day battery. Magnetic USB-C charge.
  • Swappable woven sleeves. New look in ten seconds ($24).

It won't

  • No apps, no feed, no browser, no endless scroll.
  • No step counts, sleep scores, or heart rate. It doesn't grade your life.
  • No social notifications. Ever. From anyone.
  • No screen to stare at — just light in the weave when it matters.
  • No harvesting data about your body or your habits.
  • No willpower required. That's the whole point.
The feeling

More of the moment. Less of the device.

PHLOband is not about showing off a gadget. It is about being fully there — with your kids, your friends, your book, your life — while the people who matter still have a way through.

Patent pending

PHLOFILTER™ — the AI that earns the silence.

Anyone can buzz a wristband. What's patent-pending is the intelligence in between: an AI layer that turns a rambling text into one calm, answerable question. PHLOFILTER handles the reading; you handle the answer with a few physical, one-squeeze replies.

What Mom sent
Hey honey, sorry to bug you — any chance you could grab the kids from soccer this afternoon? Practice might run long, not sure.
What your wrist shows
PICK UP KIDS · 4PM?
She never said a time — so PHLOFILTER quietly texted her "What time?", got "4," and filled it in. You never saw the exchange.
COMPRESSION

27 words in. Five out.

Every message is rewritten as a yes/no question of ten words or fewer — meaning preserved, filler gone. Glanceable in two seconds.

CLARIFICATION LOOP

Missing info? It asks the sender.

Time, place, person, quantity — if the answer would be ambiguous, PHLOFILTER texts the sender one targeted question and injects the answer. This loop is the heart of the patent filing.

QUICK REPLIES

Your choice. One squeeze.

Scroll YES / NO / MAYBE / CALL U LATER / 👍 / DISMISS. Squeeze the band to send the selected response. PHLOFILTER never pretends to be you.

URGENCY BYPASS

Emergencies skip everything.

Genuine urgency is never compressed, never delayed: full message, full-band red, strong vibration, held until you acknowledge. The safety net is absolute.

Why every screen-time app fails

Every screen-time app lives on your phone. PHLOband doesn't.

Apple Screen Time, Freedom, Opal, One Sec, Forest — a "stop drinking" app on a bottle of whiskey. Research shows they raise awareness and change nothing. PHLOband physically removes you from the phone.

Not a smartwatch. Not a tracker.

A woven band you'd wear anyway.

Woven jacquard fabric — needlepoint-belt aesthetic, not silicone. A full-width LED stripe sits flush in the weave: invisible when off, readable in daylight when it lights, and calm enough to glance at without a glass screen. The fabric around it carries the warm glow. No feed, no endless scrolling — just a dim pixel clock, a short message, and light when someone you love needs you. Designed for IP68 protection. Electronics slide out; swap sleeves in ten seconds. Four launch colorways, including signature Slate + Orange.

Founder pre-sale

Earliest is cheapest. Waiting always costs more.

Each tier locks your PHLO Line rate for life. When a tier sells out, the price steps up — permanently.

Built now. Ships after certification. PHLOband is in development, with a target shipment window in 2027. FCC and carrier certification must be complete before any band ships. Founder reservations are fully refundable while you wait.

Founding reservations are fully refundable — the $20 deposit credits toward the $79 price, and Founders Circle reservations can be refunded while the product is in development. No subscription required. The band works free over Bluetooth when your phone is nearby. The optional PHLO Line adds the band's own cellular connection — that's what lets you truly leave the phone behind. Line billing starts only when your band arrives and is activated — you pay nothing monthly while you wait. Extra woven sleeves $24. Secure checkout by Square.

Questions

FAQ

Is this a smartwatch or fitness tracker?

No — deliberately. No steps, no sleep score, no heart rate, no apps. It does show the time — a dim pixel clock whenever the band is on — because glancing at your phone "for the time" is how the doomscroll starts. Everything else, PHLOband refuses on purpose: it's a freedom device, not an optimization device.

Do my people need to install anything?

No. They text your real number like they always have. PHLOFILTER distills the message to a short signal on your wrist. You read it, scroll through quick replies, and squeeze to send the one you choose. No voice cloning and no invisible AI reply.

Do I need a subscription?

Not for basic use — Bluetooth mode is free forever when your phone is nearby. The PHLO Line ($4–6/mo depending on your tier) gives the band its own cellular connection so you can leave the phone behind entirely. Founding members lock $4/mo for life.

What counts as urgent?

Messages from your chosen people containing genuine urgency (emergency, hospital, "call me now") skip all filtering: the full band holds solid red with a strong vibration and shows the complete message until you acknowledge it. Everything else arrives as a calm, single pulse.

Which colorway do I get? When do I choose?

You don't pick at checkout — you'll choose your colorway (including the signature Slate + Orange and black-on-black) closer to ship, and Founding members choose first. Your pre-order reserves your place in line, not a specific color, so early production stays flexible and nobody gets stuck with a default.

Is it waterproof? What's the battery like?

PHLO is designed for IP68 protection — pool, ocean, rain, shower — with waterproof testing before production. Battery targets multi-day use; the band sleeps when PHLO mode is off and charges via magnetic USB-C.

Which phones does it work with?

iPhone (iOS 17 or newer) at launch. The phone must stay powered and connected so it can relay messages, but you can leave it physically behind. A short guided setup in the companion app connects your chosen contacts — about five minutes, one time. Android support is on the roadmap after launch.

When does it ship?

Our target shipment window is 2027 — Founding 100 first, then Early Bird, then pre-orders. The main reason is certification: a device with its own cellular radio must clear FCC and carrier certification before a single band ships. Hardware timelines can move, so if PHLO misses the founder ship date we publish, you can choose a full refund or stay in line with your founder benefits preserved. You can also cancel for a full refund before shipment, and PHLO Line billing doesn't start until your band is on your wrist and activated. You'll get transparent milestone updates at every stage.
